Client Spotlight: 5th Dimension Security
From start-up branding to the International Space Station
In 2020, we met 5DS, an ambitious Australian start-up with a big vision: to change the way organizations validate high-stakes digital actions.
They created a real-time internal Authorization Service that helps organizations validate suspicious, irreversible, or otherwise critical actions before they can be executed. In a world where cyberattacks and costly errors can happen in seconds, 5DS aimed to make sure the right eyes were on every important decision.
Building the Brand Foundation
Almostronaut came on board early in their journey, when they were seeking funding and looking to make their mark in the cybersecurity space. Over 2020–2021, we worked closely with the 5DS team to create:
- A professional, sleek logo and visual identity
- Business cards that made an impact at first handshake
- A polished, investor-ready pitch deck and supporting infographics
The goal? A cohesive look for their brand that didn’t distract from the facts, because their numbers spoke louder than flashy illustrations. The brand needed to communicate trust, precision, and innovation to potential investors and industry partners.

Cards That Started Conversations
At one of their first industry events, the 5DS team tested out their new business cards. The verdict? Instant impact.
As the client told us afterwards:
“Apologies for my badly-lit photos of these babies – but we got tons of positive comments about them today, thanks to you!”
In an industry that’s often digital-only, a striking physical card can still open doors… or at least spark the kind of conversation that leads to a follow-up email.
Perfecting the Pitch
The cybersecurity sector can be highly technical, and even the best solutions risk being misunderstood if the story isn’t clear. Our work on 5DS’s pitch deck focused on:
- Translating technical features into real-world benefits
- Creating a visual hierarchy that kept key points front and center
- Getting creative with diagrams and infographics to make complex concepts easy to grasp

By the time we were done, 5DS had a deck that told their story with confidence and clarity. We created some additional handouts and infographics that I am proud of to this day, sadly I can’t show you any of their proprietary content!
Lift-Off to the International Space Station
Just months after we wrapped our work, 5DS made headlines: their software had been successfully tested on the ISS.
From our 2021 year-end newsletter:
“One of our Australian clients, a once-start-up in the cybersecurity sector, has grown wings this year. News broke last month that their software has now been successfully tested on the International Space Station… We daresay our work did the trick! We couldn’t be prouder of them, and happy to have played a small role in their success.”
They’ve since combined forces with another company, continuing their mission to make the digital world safer, one high-stakes decision at a time.
Continuing the Mission
5DS’s story is proof that early investment in branding and clear communication can pay off in big ways, from winning over investors to making headlines in space. As a space nerd, it was such a thrill to be part of this. If you’re a tech start-up with big space ideas and a need to tell your story clearly… please get in touch.
Happy World Space Week, fellow astrophiles!
