You are the first adult to receive this honour.

The card reads:
“Marleen,
The 3D bear is an award that is handed to students and adults that make a difference to our school community. Only 1 bear is given out to each class. You are the first adult to receive this honour.
Glenn.”
For context, Centre Mountain Lellum is a new middle school that opened in Langford in 2022. They hired the Almostronaut team to help with their bear logo, which was developed in collaboration with Coast Salish artist Mark Gauti of the T’Sou-ke Nation. Since 2022, Marleen has been on stand-by for helping with small projects here and there.

We respectfully express our gratitude and appreciation to live and create on the unceded traditional territory of the T’Sou-ke First Nation - HÍSW̱KE - as well as the lands around the Mississippi (Bulbancha) River where Native peoples have lived since time immemorial. We strive to uphold our mutual values of storytelling and environmental stewardship.
